Last night a friend was going to check out a Jam Session at Somethin’ Jazz Club that he had heard about. I didn’t have anything planned so after checking into my hotel and charging my phone I hopped on the train and met up with him. I didn’t have any intention of touching the mic.
I touched the mic. It was a live jam session so musicians were jumping in and out non-stop. They hit that tempo that just felt right. The young lady on the mic, Xandra Corpora, I had briefly met minutes before and she jumped up and started doing her thing. I think we played well off of each other. We are a bit hard to hear over the instruments but the vibe was nice.
Shout out to everyone on the instruments, Xandra Corpora of course, and the girl behind the camera, Haruka Abe, who hopped on the mic and sang after we got off and was gracious enough to give me a copy of the video.
